by Maison Tahité – Officine Creative Profumi
Carnal Cacao by Maison Tahité is a floral-centric fragrance that centers on tuberose, neroli, and white flowers, with cacao playing a subtle supporting role rather than dominating the composition. The scent opens with a green, citrusy brightness — mandarin and pink pepper — followed by a rapid rise of lush white florals, especially tuberose, which feels lush and slightly candied. Yet cacao appears only faintly, more as a background depth than a central note, often blending with moss and amber-like warmth. The drydown reveals a creamy, milky white floral character, enhanced by ambroxan, which at times can feel overly sweet or astringent. It's unexpectedly light and airy, more like a tropical garden than chocolate, with performance that I'd describe as moderate in both sillage and longevity. Though marketed as a cacao fragrance, the notes are more about infused white flowers, sunscreen-like freshness, and a hint of green spice, making it more appropriate for spring and warm weather.
