Sherwood by Memo Paris presents a surprisingly complex and polarizing olfactory journey. It begins with a pronounced, creamy black currant and carrot seed accord, giving an unexpected fruity-sweet opening that lingers well into the dry down. The central core features a powdery, slightly musky floral expression dominated by damask rose and orange blossom, creating a soft, balmy impression reminiscent of vintage white floral powders. The dry down reveals a soothing, cashmeran-laden woody base with sandalwood and oak, suggesting a close-knit, warm, and somewhat resinous forest atmosphere. While some find it unexpectedly intimate and cozy, many perceive it as unclear in its identity—veering between fragrant, powdery woody scents and a floral, almost sour milk-like character that some describe as overwhelming or unbalanced. Its longevity is moderate to long, sillage is mostly moderate, and the scent tends to persist, which can be either appealing or wearing depending on skin chemistry.
