by Areej Le Doré
Siberian Summer by Areej Le Doré is a bold, dry chypre with a strong animalic and smoky character, blending birch tar, camphor, and crisp musk with a subtle floral heart of champaca and jasmine. It opens with a sharp, citrusy-green burst of bergamot, lime, and balsam fir, evolving into a woody-musky base dominated by cedar, vetiver, and oakmoss, with a dry, almost desert-like finish. The fragrance is deeply masculine in character, with a pronounced linear progression that feels dry, smoky, and slightly astringent. While some find it refreshing and well-balanced, others experience it as harsh or one-dimensional, particularly due to its intense, urinous muskiness and desert-dry drydown. Longevity is strong, especially on clothing, and sillage tends to be moderate to strong, making it best suited for evening wear or cooler seasons, despite its name suggesting summer suitability.
