by Serge Lutens
Datura Noir by Serge Lutens is a rich, gourmand white floral with a complex, shifting character. It opens with a pronounced, creamy coconut note layered with sweet floral accents of tuberose, heliotrope, and apricot, creating an intensely sweet and lactonic impression. On some skin types, this sweetness can feel overwhelming or cloying, leading to fatigue or headaches. The fragrance evolves into a soft, powdery scent dominated by almond and vanillin, with hints of more hidden floral depth. It is not a loud, projecting scent, but rather a close-to-the-skin aroma with moderate sillage, best enjoyed as a personal scent. Its longevity is moderate, lasting several hours, and is often perceived as being more prominent in warm weather and in the evening, where its warm, melty qualities are most apparent. On cooler skin or in winter, the fragrance may feel more subdued, with less of the coconut sweetness appearing.
